EUCALYPTUS HOUSE
HATCH Architects restored this modest 1920s workers cottage into a spacious and light-filled 3 storey urban sanctuary. Set within a dense urban context, the design is carefully oriented to capture and frame views of a private eucalyptus reserve, establishing a strong connection between the home and its natural surroundings.
The project combines contemporary living with a tactile palette of earthy, natural materials inspired by the tones, textures and atmosphere of the surrounding eucalyptus trees. Carefully considered openings, layered spaces and an emphasis on natural light create a calm and immersive living environment that feels deeply connected to place.
Eucalyptus House balances openness and privacy, offering a tranquil retreat within the city while celebrating the unique character and landscape of its site.
Construction completed in 2026 with Built Complete.
